Collection and Purpose

We may collect personal information from you in the course of your use of our website, facilities and services.  This may include but is not limited to your name, contact details, identification information, history records of your communication and interaction with us, details or history of preference, interests and behaviour in relation to certain facilities and services provided by the The Haus Group, payment and credit card information, such as bank accounts, name of cardholder, credit card number, credit card billing address and expiry date, loyalty program member information, online account details, profile or password details, information from our security systems such as from our closed-circuit television system, card key, internet login and firewalls information relating to your use and interaction with our website and mobile apps.

In addition, we may also collect:

  • non-personally identifiable information such as your computer’s IP address, browser type, webpage you were visiting before you came to our website, the pages within the website which you visit, the time spent on those pages, items, and information searched on our website, access times, dates and other statistics; and
  • cookies from your computer or device, which enables us to tell when you use the website and also to help customise your website experience and special offers. However, you can modify the settings on your computer or device to prevent cookie use.

The type of personal information we may collect and hold is only what is reasonably necessary for The Haus Group’s business activities.

Cross Border Disclosures

Any personal information collected and held by us may be disclosed to, and held at, a destination outside Australia including where we utilise third party service providers to assist us with providing our goods and services to you.  Personal information may also be processed by staff or by other third parties operating outside Australia who work for us or for one of our suppliers, agents, contractors, advisors, partners or related companies.

We may use service providers and platforms which can be accessed from various countries via an internet connection, in which case it is not always practicable to know where your information may be held.  If your information is stored in this way, disclosures may occur in countries other than those listed above.

By submitting your personal information to us, you expressly agree and consent to the disclosure, transfer, storing or processing of your personal information outside of Australia. In providing this consent, you understand and acknowledge that countries outside Australia do not always have the same privacy protection obligations as Australia in relation to personal information.

The Privacy Act 1988 requires us to take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to ensure that any recipients of your personal information outside of Australia do not breach the privacy principles contained within the Privacy Act 1988. By providing your consent, under the Privacy Act 1988, we are not required to take such steps as may be reasonable in the circumstances.

Access and correction

Australian Privacy Principle 12 of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 allows you to get access to, and correct, the personal information we hold about you in certain circumstances. Please note that before we provide you with access to your personal information we may require sufficient proof of identification. We may also charge a reasonable fee for giving you access to your personal information.

We will process your request as soon as reasonably practicable, provided we are not otherwise prevented from doing so on legal grounds.

The Haus Group is committed to protecting the security of your personal information and we take all reasonable precautions to protect it from unauthorised access (including SSL certificate encryption of all data when it is transferred to our service providers and limitations on access to personal information within our organisation).
