The Oakbank Easter Racing Carnival has been one of South Australia’s premier social and sporting occasions for nearly 150 years, and the annual pilgrimage to the Adelaide Hills track is for many a family tradition for many generations.

It is the largest picnic race meeting in the world and more than 60,000 racegoers bring their own picnics and barbeques to the two days over Easter, and even before racing begins the car park is awash with marquees, tents and picnic rugs as families and friends soak up the country racing atmosphere.

There’s nothing like a day at the races, and there’s nothing quite like a day at the Oakbank Easter Races in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.

And in 2020 it gets even bigger with the new ‘Oakbank Week’.

Patrons will experience the same historic race events for which Oakbank has become renowned, but across three separate days – April 5, 8 and 11. Patrons will be able to celebrate our traditional Easter Carnival while still enjoying the long weekend with your loved ones.

Oakbank Week adds a unique flavour to country racing with lavish picnics, family atmosphere, entertainment and fashions on the field. Local Adelaide Hills food and wine producers will also be on display, giving you a taste of the region.

Start a new tradition with Oakbank Week in 2020. See details here.
